Interview Series - Career Experts - Ashley Stahl from Ashley International, Inc. + Cake Publishing â" CareerMetis.com In this interview series, we caught up with Ashley Stahl from Ashley International Inc. and Cake Publishing who shares his expertise and insights about job search, career change,etc.in todayâs marketplace.Tell us a little bit about your companyevalAt Ashley International, I coach people on how to find their purpose I worked hard to land my first job in counter-terrorism and starting teaching friends how to land job offers.Is this something you decided early on in your career?I started by just following my joy for job hunting without thinking it would turn into a business.I was always offering myself up to friends, and I couldnât help but notice them giving me feedback that I was making an impact, and that the career advice is something theyâd happily pay for.After working through mindset blocks What are the common mistakes that you see them do?Applying for jobs online, asking people to pass their resume with too much pushiness, lack of knowing what they want.How should job seek ers approach job search today?Knowing that applying for jobs is a waste of time. Go out, and connect strategically with the people youâd want to hire you, be it through a cold email and coffee or a networking event.Unemployment is at the lowest levels, why do you think that is?I stay out of political thoughts, but I donât believe this percent will remain as low in the next few years, sadly.What is the biggest trend(s) you see that job seekers will face in the next 2-3 years?Coming up against robots replacing them. This means that workers of the future need to hone good soft skills.What is one advice you would give someone just out of college today?Treat your career as an experiment that meets you where you are. Donât buy into the 5 year plan and know youâll grow or change. Take the pressure off.What is one advice you would give someone who is switching careers?Take your experience from the past and communicate whatâs relevant from it into the future of what you want to do next.What is the biggest trend(s) you see that hiring managers will face in the next 2-3 years?Finding good talent (given the low unemployment rate, employees leave more), customers repelling robots, and mastering new technologies.Ashley, what are you currently working on?I have been upping my keynote speaking game, and I have a new TEDx talk out called âHow To Figure Out What You Really Wantâ which Iâm so excited for.What are the best resources you recommend to job seekers?I have a bookstore on my website and I think itâs so helpful!
